ABOUT:
The Compleat Angler is a book written in 1653 by Izaak Walton during pre-Reformation England. Aside from the Bible and the works of Shakespeare, The Compleat Angler is the most reprinted book in history. In addition to its fishing advice, it contains recipes, songs, poetry and a lively dialogue between a hunter, falconer, and fisherman. It's a lovely read but not exactly an easy one. The intent of my blog is to help readers work their way through it and also call attention to the many other texts out there that were inspired by The Compleat Angler or that make mention of it.
