A bit of a late bloomer to the writing craft, I am just getting started! At present, I have three works in various stages of publication, I am working on a proposal for a new narrative nonfiction book, and I have two blogs in infancy status.

While my experience thus far has primarily been in the area of historical research and nonfiction, I'm also working on writing for children and young adults, short stories and devotionals.

For information about my blogs, please visit the sub-pages here entitled "The Angler's Song" and "The Compleat Angler's Digest".
My doctoral dissertation, A History of the 14th Army Band (WAC): 1949-1976, was published by ProQuest in 2015. It received an "Honorable Mention" award by the IGEB International Society for Research and Promotion of Wind Music in 2016. Please contact me if you would like for me to give an informative and entertaining presentation for your organization regarding the fascinating story of the Women's Army Corps Band!
I co-wrote a chapter for Music Teaching and Learning in America's Public Normal Schools with Dr. Roger Anderson. The chapter is about the history of the Northern Arizona Normal School in Flagstaff, Arizona from 1899-1925. It is scheduled to be published by Bloomsbury Press in December, 2025.

I wrote a short story about my cat Dexter (upper right). It was selected for inclusion in an anthology called And God Made Pets, published by Christian Writers for Life in July 2025.
